Museum friends receive announcements of new additions to the museum and other noteworthy events.
“White on White” represents an expansion of subject matter from landscape to what I call “buildingscapes” – the wonderful barns and farmhouses that are so closely identified with Vermont’s agricultural image.
The history of our state is so embodied in these symbols of hard work and the rural way of life. I have tried to see these buildings with a sense of both past and present, with depth and sensitivity, and to appreciate the subtleties of color and light. Painting them without sentimentality or postcard prettiness has been an important focus of these works. It is my way of helping to preserve an endangered species, to save a part of the legacy of Vermont before they are erased from the landscape forever.

One of the perks of membership is that you get to read and post comments.
Comments aren't exactly secret (almost - though you do have to be 13 and have a working email address - anybody can register!) but they aren't totally public either (they aren't indexed by searched engines and the user agreement says you can't publish them elsewhere without their author's permission.)
Please don't feel excluded. It doesn't cost anything to register. Just sign up and you'll be an insider in no time flat.
