The Colonel’s finest- I wanted to have the viewpoint as though it’s your meal and you’re looking down at it. I don’t normally order the corn but was drawn to painting that foil wrapped cylinder. The painting is 13.5″×17″

When you see the bright red of the tray and the texture of the chicken juxtaposed against the jaunty tile, it’s down right appetizing, especially when compared to a similar shaped tray one gets in an institional setting. We rely so much on superficial visual cues for what we should eat, and in most fast food joints you will find sterile tile and the color red- signs that indicate tasty fatty grub and cleanliness.
I thought about this work every day I was in the hospital.

I just woke up. Can’t handle all this brown food early in the morning. Great composition. Juxtaposed rectangles everywhere. You’ve masterfully rendered how EVERYTHING is plastic. Food too?!?

Maybe even me.

What is sick is that I actually get hungry looking at it!

I have a weak spot for this crap too I have to admit, otherwise I wouldn’t be interested in it. Popeye’s is better for a fried chicken fix for me though.

The reflections on the gravy and the plastic around the fork – amazing. I can smell this greasy meal, it’s so real!
