Peacock Dancer is part of my Hooker Dream Escape series. It is one of the first pieces I finished for the show which was at at Corey Helford Gallery in Culver City.
The paintings in this series are places and situations that I feel are intimate and relaxing… I wanted everything oriented toward comfort, towards escaping the mundane everyday tasks and feeling like it’s a get away .
The model is in her own space, her room and her whole personality shows through the environment.

Natalie, I wish there was more interaction with the viewer in this. Everything seems to be leaving on the left side. Maybe a twist in her body , bringing the top half back toward the right. I think you may have been more interested in the atmosphere than the human content. It all makes for a visually airy world thick with the smell of someone trying too hard to please. Nice rendering and Jennifer looks great.
Hey Natalia, glad you’re up! I like how you handled the tricky light situation in this painting, it looks better in person, the photos oversaturate the greens and blues a hair.. anyway great job and looking forward to more.
