Skiway, New Hampshire
The Dartmouth Skiway is the canvas that Dartmouth skiing is painted on – past,
present and future… always there, always ready, always white. Many in this book
have made tracks there, and more Dartmouth skiers will in years to come.

I can remember either the 1952 or 56 Olympics when the entire Dartmouth Ski Team attended the Olympics; Brooks Dodge, Ralph Miller, Tom Cocoran, “Chic Agiai & I think Egal Stegium” (sp both) and our Norwich Girl & classmate Betsy Snite Riley. There were other DC’s skiers but memory doesn’t bring them now. Chic skied for Japan & won a silver, Betsy won a silver, Ralph set a speed record in Italy at I think 108 mph in the downhill. The Dartmouth ski team use to hang out at Art Bennett’s Ski Shop on Main Street and we young ones would listen to them weekly. They all congregated there and talked skiing with Art and many others. Hanover produced many other Olympians over the years, the Chiver’s boys, The Stewart kids, Sally Neidlinger plus the newer ones we all know. We have more medals from Norwich & Hanover then some countries! The drinking water is great here! Bill Aldrich
If you go to the Hannah Kearney homecoming at the Marion Cross School this Friday, maybe you or someone else with a camera can post a photo of her with her new gold.

Marion Cross School is part of the collection Historic Monuments of Norwich, featuring then and now photos of our village. Here’s the MCS “then”.

Interesting photos, Chad! Yours of the Congregational Church (small, in the background of second and third comments above this one) are taken from nearly the same angle as this one from the NHS archives.
