This picture captures a spontaneous, emotional and mysterious moment. The fact that we can’t see their faces adds to the mystery…are they going to kiss? is the one laying down alive? What is their relationship to one another? The picture clearly portrays a powerful bond between the two characters and leaves the viewer questioning.
I’ve been wanting to work with oil sticks but they don’t sell them locally here so I have order online which I haven’t decided to do yet because I am afraid I may end up ordering more stuff than what I originally intended to. Like walking to a candy store.
What a touching work! I love your direct response, and the fact that you trust it.
Roofing felt? I think that would make me feel like I was painting with my elbows. I don’t know how you do it.

I was wondering that too. It seems like scratching a chalkboard or something..
I love this. The shapes and the feel, Katherine. I’ve used roofing felt too with soft pastels and I love it. It simulates being out on the asphalt street where I chalk. Nice work!
