This is interesting info – does anyone know the sources? Where can I find out more?

Note the google translator gadget at the bottom of this page. Unfortunately, Georgian is not one of the 51 languages supported. But Russian, French, German, Italian, Turkish.. may be useful to some of your visitors.

Lana (and friends of the museum!) you can now share this museum, collections, facets, as well as objects. Just look for the “share this” button on any page.

Concerning the recording of the Doli, do you have any information about the occasion and the artists?

I wonder why the trees selected for their wood should be from a windy area? Fascinating…

i didn’t got you… could you explain?

I’m just starting to learn how to play the Chonguri, which is no easy task when you live in Ireland :) I was wondering of any of you might know of any good resources;books, sites etc. that you could recommend?
I was wondering in particular about tuning. As I understand it there are various tunings depending on the song being accompanied(thats pretty standard for any stringed instrument), but could any of you give me some examples. The more traditional tunings would be nice! Thanks in advance for any help.

Yeah, Lauri!!!

This sound is too impressionable…

Being able to hear the instruments played (and played beautifully—listen to the chonguri here) brings these instruments to life in a way that photos just can’t match.

I too was so pleased to be able to hear the instruments. Made all the difference in my experience. Thank you!
