Eurydice, “Farewell”
Kerstin Nichols’ jewelry and sculpture can be found in the permanent Collections of the Cooper-Hewitt Museum in NYC and the Museum of American Glass at Wheaton Village in Millville, NJ, in addition to other public and private collections. She holds an MFA in Sculpture and a BA in Biology/Geology. Having taught metal smithing to people of all ages and experience levels for close to three decades, Kerstin has run the Metals program at the Hanover League of NH Craftsmen since 1991. As a dedicated teacher who brings the creativity and attention she gives her own work to her classes, she says her goal is to instill an excitement in what they are learning that goes deeper than the making of mere beautiful objects and the mastery of the processes they need to learn to make them. She is also the very grateful recipient of a grant from CERF in 2008 that helped her recover from brain surgery.
