Although Vermont winters are frigid, it could be a pleasant time of year. There was usually less work to do on the farms, so Vermonters could spend more time visiting friends and family, playing in the snow, or reading by the fire. The objects in this collection illustrate how the residents of Plymouth Notch, VT stayed warm and had fun during the long nineteenth century winters.
