F. Scott Hess Museum

This painting is the first in my collection, The Hotel Vide (Vide from the Latin or Italian root of the verb see). It is a murder mystery in ten paintings. You are invited to look for the solution, alone or with others. Keep in mind, however, that when you feel you have solved the mystery your conclusion may, or may not be correct. It may be incomplete. And don’t look to me to assist you. I will be standing by happy to watch and interact with you, but the secret will die with me. Besides keeping the game alive for future visual detectives, I hope that my silence will lead you and others to really see the painting: its paint strokes, color, and levels of content within the work.
